Our Animals

In addition to the animals we raise for food, we have a fun time with our barn animals.

Piggles

We have Piggles, our rescue pig. It was on a different farm as a piglet and her bones were showing. The farmer gave this little piglet to Sherry and she nursed it back. She is part of the barn posey now. See videos of Piggles when she first arrived and more recent photos.

Sam

Sam is estimated to be about 33-34 years old. He was not cared for properly in his former years. In addition to him being part of the posey, he is also known to herd the goats when he sensed danger. Go Sam!

Goats

What can we say? Goats are Goats. They can be cute or if they get out, they can be a nuisance. We have five goats, and we have them for brush control. They like to eat vegetation that other animals on our farm don’t like. This can be great as long as we take the time to move them to different areas on the farm.

Guardian DOGS

These majestic dogs are needed on our farm.  They roam the property and they keep the predators at bay.  If a raccoon or possum approaches our birds at night, they typically meet Bonnie and Clyde.  When coyotes sound at night, Bonnie and Clyde are listening. When the coyotes are getting closer, Bonnie and Clyde will howl and let them know where they are at and to stay away.
